This
conference is designed for everyone who is interested in evangelism:
from the beginner who needs basic tools, to the person who has the
gift of evangelism or is a church leader who wants to know how to
stimulate the church and lead others in evangelism. In addition,
there will be ample opportunity to fellowship, network and be encouraged
with like-minded believers who have a love for the lost.

Evangelism
101-
there are so many models for evangelism out there today, but many
are not Biblical. Fundamental teaching on evangelism will provide
a foundation with practical examples of what is and isn't Biblical
evangelism. Evangelical Christians generally understand that the
gospel saves and that everyone needs a Savior, but much instruction
on evangelism today isn't Biblical and doesn't adequately address
the fundamental issues of salvation: What are we saved from? "Sin
and judgment for sin". What are the consequences of sin? What
reveals to a person that they are a sinner in need of a Savior?
(Galatians 3:24, Romans 3:19-20, 7:7,13) How can this be accomplished
practically in evangelism in a way that is compassionate but yet
doesn't avoid the hard issues of sin, righteousness and judgment,
cooperating with the work of the Holy Spirit (John 16:8)? |

True
and False Conversions:
In fishing, if you provide the wrong bait, you potentially will
catch the wrong fish. Jesus and the Apostles frequently spoke of
false conversions. There will be teaching on what types of evangelism
lead to an increase in false conversions and how to avoid false
conversions in evangelism. In addition, all of us run into people
that have revealed during evangelism conversations that they believe
they are saved by praying a prayer, etc, but yet their conversation
indicates that they never truly have repented and trusted Christ
as their Lord and Savior. How does one share the gospel with such
individuals in a way that exposes their false conversion but yet
is filled with compassion? |

Addressing
Objections to the Gospel:
Frequently while sharing the gospel with unbelievers, there will
be a suppression of the truth as different objections are raised,
whether it relates to science, the accuracy of the Bible, the Biblical
account of Jesus Christ, archaeology, prophecy, church history,
alleged discrepancies, philosophical arguments about relativism,
objections to the fairness of God's judgment and even issues such
as claiming religion is the cause of all wars. How can we adequately
provide answers to objections and get the conversation back to the
gospel? |

How
to Build Evangelism Teams and Stimulate Evangelism in the Church:
Put an announcement in the church bulletin for a concert or a free
dinner and you're bound to get many people show up, but yet tell
the church that this Wednesday night, instead of the regular Bible
study, there will be an evangelism outreach and hardly anyone shows
up. How can church leaders and evangelists stimulate, exhort, encourage
and train the church to fulfill the Great Commission? How can teams
be raised up effectively? |

Counting
the Cost in Evangelism:
Jesus warned about counting the cost of being His disciple. Evangelism
is one of those areas where the cost is weighed. How can we adequately
prepare people for counting the cost so that they are prepared when
spiritual warfare strikes in the midst of evangelism? How can we
stimulate and encourage each other to persevere in evangelism and
finish the race well? |

Cross-Cultural
and Campus Evangelism:
Our cities are filled with people from other countries, and our
campuses are overflowing with international students- Muslims, agnostics,
Hindus, Buddhists and Jews fill our campuses and our cities. We
have such a privilege in America to be missionaries right where
we are and in our own language. Learn some of the struggles to overcome
to witnessing to people from different cultures and religions and
become a missionary here at home. |

Inner
City Outreach:
reaching out to people in the rough parts of our cities offers some
special challenges. This naturally brings up the topic of how evangelism
and discipleship work hand in hand, and how all the gifts can work
together, preparing God's people for works of service so that the
body of Christ may be built up and people can be taken out of the
darkness of sin and provided a solid foundation for discipleship
and community in the midst of the inner city. |
